Beside 'The Star-Spangled Banner' performance from the Idol artist, 'America the Beautiful' is also brought to the stage by Queen Latifah at the Miami.
Carrie Underwood took the stage of the Miami's Sun Life Stadium over the weekend, singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" live in front of the spectators of Super Bowl XLIV. Performing before the game between the Colts and Saints, she sported white outfit. At the end of her set, fireworks were shot in the air.
Although it was not the first time she delivered her rendition of the National Anthem, Carrie previously admitted about being nervous for the Sunday, February 7 performance. "I am going to be extremely nervous," she told the press. "My biggest fear is words. Of course, you sang these songs a million times and everybody knows the words and of course you know the words, but if you're going to mess up, that would be the one time you would do it."
In addition to Carrie Underwood, there was also Queen Latifah making a live performance. Donning a gray jacket, she belted out a beautiful live rendition of "America the Beautiful" with a children choir backing her up.
"I think if anything I don't know if is about a difficulty, but just a responsibility," she commented during a press conference with the "American Idol" singer two days before the show. "You feel like when you sing 'America the Beautiful' or the National Anthem you feel like you are representing America, so you just want to show up."
Jay-Z was another star entertaining the baseball lovers with his hit single. The rapper was seen on the big screen performing "Run This Town" with Rihanna's recorded voice. Holding the golden Super Bowl trophy, he was accompanied by Rutgers Symphony Orchestra.
The half time of the game show was filled with The Who's live act. This band brought together their songs, such as "Pinball Wizard", "Baba O'Reilly", "Who Are You?", "See Me, Feel Me" and "Won't Get Fooled Again", for a medley performance.
Like those sitting inside the stadium, fans outside the venue were also treated with live performances. DAUGHTRY rocked the NFL's Super Tailgate Party, singing "Life After You".
