Arriving in style: Jessica Alba at the premiere of her new movie Machete last night at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles

Lindsay Lohan may well have been released from rehab, but she left the promotional duties of her new film Machete to her co-stars last night.

Step forward Jessica Alba, who made sure all eyes were on her in an stand out, short metallic black and gold zigzag dress.

The 29-year-old star, who plays a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in the action film, arrived in style to the world premiere in Los Angeles last night in a low rider.

Make way: The star is escorted to the venue in the colourful low rider, flanked by her bodyguard

Mother of one Jessica, who is married to Cash Warren, looked delighted to be centre of attention as she posed for photographs and signed autographs for fans at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown LA.

Lohan, who was released for rehab on Tuesday night, plays April Benz, an avenging socialite with a penchant for guns in the ultra violent movie.

Yesterday her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, said Lohan would not attend the screening of Machete.

Wow: The 29-year-old star was the centre of attention in a metallic black and gold zigzag dress, teamed with bondage-style heels. Her co-star Lohan was a no show

Cast call: With her co-star Danny Trejo and Michelle Rodriguez, who dressed down in jeans and a skull print T-shirt

But she said Lohan's treatment schedule - including psychotherapy and addiction counselling sessions - will permit the actress to resume working.

In one scene in the controversial film, directed by Robert Rodriguez, Lohan goes topless while swimming in a waterfall with Alicia Rachel Marek, who plays her mother.

The film centers on Machete, an ex-Federale, played by Danny Trejo, who launches a brutal rampage of revenge against his boss after being betrayed by the organization who hired him.

Controversial: Lindsay Lohan dressed as a nun with a gun in a scene from the movie. Her attorney earlier said she would not be attending the premiere

It also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, Robert DeNiro, Rose McGowan and Don Johnson.

Machete has already fallen foul of controversy after a trailer that was released with a special 'Cinco De Mayo' message inviting viewers into a violent on-screen race war caused outcries of racism.

Rodriguez has a history when it comes to making violent movies, past projects have included the gory vampire movie, From Dusk Till Dawn and the 2007 hit Grindhouse.

Jennifer Aniston's new movie The Switch bombs at box office as The Expendables stays at No.1 for a second week

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSkQrd-SR6cendofvid

By Daily Mail Reporter

Talk to the hand: Jennifer Aniston arrives at the Jon Stewart Show in New York last week

The turkey baster mover starring Jennifer Aniston is officially a turkey. 'The Switch,' performed badly in its opening weekend at the U.S. box office scoring only eighth place and grossing a mere $8.1 million dollars.

Even Aniston's recent regrettable and forgettable comedy Bounty Hunter with Gerard Butler earned $20 million in its opening weekend.

Reviewers panned the film with Us Weekly's Thelma Adams stating that Aniston 'treads on all-too-familiar ground; there isn't an exasperated hair flip we haven't already seen 100 times.'

The sperm donor film starring the 41-year-old actress and Jason Bateman was no match for the Sylvestser Stallone vehicle The Expendables, which maintained its number one spot for the second weekend running. The film has now grossed $64.9 million.

Tender moment: Aniston and co-star Jason Bateman share a quiet moment in The Switch, which only reached No.8 in the U.S. box office in its opening weekend

The Switch was also beaten at the box office by the Twilight spoof Vampires Suck, which grabbed second place with $12.2 million, Bow Wow's Lottery Ticket at number 4 with $11 million and Piranha 3-D at number six with $10 million.

Following this latest flop for the former Friends star, the New York Post contemplated whether Aniston chooses her movies based on what is happening in her life at the time.

The Post notes: 'In her newest movie, The Switch, Aniston plays a character that has no husband or boyfriend, which is decidedly inconvenient considering her time to have a child is running out.

'It's funny, cause that's the exact same situation the real Aniston wakes up to each and every morning (minus the stupendous dimmers that Brad Pitt personally installed in the house they lived in together, and the weighted knowledge that he now has six children that she did not give him).'

Sylvester Stallone and his co-stars have plenty to smile about as their movie The Expendables topped the US box office for the second week running

Both Aniston's career and her love life have been chequered with her former beaus including Brad Pitt, Vince Vaughn and John Mayer.

Now Aniston is having to talk about a date she went on with American comedian and talk show host Jon Stewart over a decade ago.

Last week, Aniston was a guest on Jon's show, 'The Daily Show' - one of many she went on to plug her movie- when he reminded her of a romantic Italian dinner they shared in New York.

However, they both had conflicting recollections of the evening.

Said Stewart: 'I asked you out and it was lovely. I remember you brought so many of your friends.

'And I remember thinking, "She's so excited to be on a date with me, she wants me to get to know her posse."'

However, Aniston responded: 'If I remember correctly, wasn't it sort of like, "Hey, a group of us are going out, do you want to join?"'

Mangelina! Jolie is transformed into a man for 'Salt' role (and she STILL looks good)

Transformation: Angelina Jolie disguised as a man for her role as Evelyn Salt in the new film 'Salt'

For one of the world's most beautiful women, Angelina Jolie doesn't make a bad-looking man.

The Hollywood star spent hours in make-up donning fake ears, a fake nose and a latex neck covering to achieve the stunning transformation for her latest movie, Salt.

The effect was so convincing that when her family visited her on set in New York, husband Brad Pitt refused to kiss her and their nine-year-old adopted son Maddox did not even recognise her.

Reality: The star as she appears normally attends the premiere of Salt in Berlin last week

Miss Jolie said: 'I invited Maddox to come and say hi and didn't tell him who I was.

'He hung out with me for a while until I said ''Mad'' - and when he realised it was me he was just freaking out.

'Brad wouldn't kiss me either, he wouldn't go there.'

In the film, an action thriller, the 35-year-old actress plays CIA operative Evelyn Salt who is accused of being a Russian spy.

At one point she disguises herself as a tough male naval officer.

Salt was released in the UK on Friday and has received mixed reviews.

It has been reported that Miss Jolie is to play Marilyn Monroe in a new movie, but she denied that at Salt's London premiere.

She said: ‘I don’t know anything about it.’

Unrecognisable: Angelina dons the latex that will transform her into a man

My bad side: From a different angle the star - disguised as a man - looks somewhat creepy

Surgery-free and proud: Julia Roberts proudly displays her wrinkles at Eat, Pray, Love premiere

Natural woman: Julia Roberts says 'The secret ingredient of beauty is being happy - and maybe a little eye cream'

While rival stars don't hesitate to put their features under the knife, Julia Roberts proudly remains a surgery free zone.

The 42-year-old actress, face of the cosmetic company Lancome, made no attempt to conceal her wrinkles at the premiere of her latest film.

Asked about her decision to embrace the ageing process, she said: 'The secret ingredient of beauty is being happy. And maybe a little eye cream.'

Miss Roberts, a mother of three, found fame 20 years ago with Richard Gere in Pretty Woman.

Nice to meet you: Julia waves at the press and fans as she takes to the stage at the premiere of Eat, Pray, Love

She railed against cosmetic surgery in a recent interview, saying: 'Your face tells a story and it shouldn't be a story about your drive to the doctor's office.'

Miss Roberts was visiting Tokyo where she was promoting her film Eat, Pray, Love, about a 40-something woman who travels to Italy, India and Bali after going through a divorce.

She has revealed that she is now a practising Hindu and goes to temple to 'chant and pray and celebrate'.

Pretty Woman: With her movie co-star Richard Gere in 1990

Born to Baptist and Catholic parents, she is thought to have made the religious conversion while shooting the movie.

She added that she hopes to be reincarnated as 'something quiet' after the stresses of celebrity.

After failing to set box offices alight in the Western world with her new film, Julia Roberts will be hoping for a better reception in the Far East.

So to possibly try to butter up her Japanese fan base, she took inspiration from the country's traditional dress.

The actress arrived in a kimono-style gold dress, which showed off her tall, willowy figure as she took to the stage at the Roppongi Hills Arena
Julia and husband Daniel Moder, 41, flew into Narita Airport on a private jet and they plan to spend a few days exploring the country.

Despite a film career that has spanned two decades, this is her first ever visit to Japan.

Yesterday she held a press conference and photo call in Tokyo hours after arriving.
But she avoided giving a proper answer when asked why it had taken her so long to visit the Land of the Rising Sun.

She said: It's just my good fortune to finally find myself here in Tokyo with all of you nice people.'

All-action Angelina: Her stunts are better than Bond and Bourne. So what does Miss Jolie think of her roughest-ever-role?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6x_x7YrX2gendofvid
[starttext]
By Daily Mail Reporter

Head for heights: Angelina Jolie, who performed many of her own stunts in Salt, seems to be enjoying herself as she hangs off a New York building

What Angelina Jolie wants, she tends to get. When Sony boss Amy Pascal took Jolie to lunch four years ago and asked her whether she'd like to play a James Bond girl, she replied that she would prefer to play Bond.

They both laughed - but Jolie wasn't joking and Pascal had taken her seriously.

Jolie's wish was somewhat granted when Tom Cruise withdrew from playing a super-spy in Edwin A. Salt, a blockbuster conceived to rival the Bond and Jason Bourne movies.

The script was overhauled to accommodate Angelina, and the spy's name became Evelyn Salt; a CIA operative who goes on the run when she is suspected of being a Russian spy.

And Jolie was quick to ring in the changes. Salt's young daughter was written out of the film and the original conclusion was jettisoned. And a scene was added in which Salt covers a security camera with her underwear.

Jolie, 35, who also fought for the film's action scenes to be toughened up, says: 'My character doesn't use her sexuality. It's the roughest I've looked. I wanted my fight scenes to get darker and I wanted everyone to see that it was me.'

The film's Australian director, Phillip Noyce, thinks she has done a great job. 'This film is owned by Angelina,' he says. 'You can't imagine anyone else who could have pulled it off so effectively with her combination of extreme athleticism and acute acting ability.'

In action: Jolie takes things more seriously when the cameras are rolling. She has been praised for 'owning' her new role as CIA agent Evelyn Salt

Jolie's edgy portrayal was undoubtedly helped by her research into the shadowy world of real-life spies and agents.

Before taking on the role she talked to several women CIA spies, including the film's technical adviser, Melissa Boyle Mahle, who worked for the agency for 16 years.

'You wonder what these women are like - are they powerful?' Jolie says. 'My preconception of what a spy was like was blown out of the water. Melissa spoke about the loneliness of not being able to communicate with her family and what that does to you when you come home from work and you just can't share anything about your life.'

The film has benefited from priceless publicity with its release coinciding with news that the U.S. government had arrested 11 alleged Russian 'sleepers'.

These are agents trained to infiltrate the American way of life for many years before Day X - spytalk for the time they are eventually activated by Moscow.

No more Mrs Nice Guy: Jolie says of Salt, 'In some movies I've made, there's been a temptation, as I'm a woman, to make the action, well, nice. Not this time'

Tough day at the office: Apart from hanging off buildings, Jolie had to jump from one moving truck to another

'At first, we thought the whole idea of sleepers was a bit of a fantasy', says Jolie. 'But as we found out more from the CIA spies, we discovered it was more real than we could have guessed.'

Jolie is no stranger to the action movie genre. She's played Lara Croft in two Tomb Raider movies and assassins in both Wanted and Mr & Mrs Smith (starring opposite Brad Pitt, then married to Jennifer Aniston but now Jolie's partner).

But in Salt, Jolie takes her combative streak to another level. She hangs off the side of a New York building, falls out of a helicopter 60ft above the ground and leaps off one speeding truck on to another.

Back to glamour: The blood, sweat and scars were swapped for red-carpet chic at the London premiere of Salt

Jolie performed most of the stunts herself. She says: 'In some movies I've made, there's been a temptation, as I'm a woman, to make the action, well, nice. Not this time.'

After one physical scene, she feared she had gone deaf - 'although it turned out I'd forgotten I still had my protective ear-plugs in'.

And, after all the big stunts, she came a cropper tackling one of the easier calls - rolling along the floor for one of the film's final scenes, she banged into a desk, leaving her with a scar above her nose.

Jolie says raising six children with Pitt - three biological and three adopted - makes her more inclined to put herself on the line.

'Maybe it's because I spend so much time at home with the kids that I really like to get out and jump on something and not be an ordinary mum for a bit. I liked the character because in the story she has had a damaged life and is a little off. Well, I'm a little off, too.'

But Jolie didn't have things all her own way on Salt. 'Angie had the fantasy that she could jump on a motorcycle pillion and then we would find out that Brad Pitt was the motorcycle rider leading her to safety,' Noyce says.

But her dream of him making a cameo appearance was dashed when Pitt happened to be looking after their children on the day that the scene was filmed.

It's the second time that Pitt has missed out on being in one of Noyce's films. The director reveals that he turned down Pitt to star alongside Sharon Stone in the 1993 flop Sliver in favour of Billy Baldwin.

It's Noyce's first blockbuster in a decade following time out making smaller movies. And in the interim he says that Bourne and Daniel Craig's Bond films have sent the action movie genre into a spin.

'Those are two benchmarks that changed everything,' he says. 'You now have to invest your story with emotion and deliver sequences that throw the audience into the middle of the action.'

As for who would triumph in a battle between Bourne and Evelyn Salt, Noyce has no doubts. 'Salt would win because she's a woman,' he says. She can get away with stuff that men can't.'

So, on the evidence of Salt, can Angelina Jolie.

Angelina Jolie swamps her figure in long black dress at Berlin premiere of Salt... but can't hide her bony shoulder blades

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiQYdxDszNsendofvid
[starttext]
By Mail Online Reporter

Skinny: Angelina Jolie's long black BCBG Max Azria dress did little to conceal her thin figure and couldn't hide her protruding shoulder blades and skinny arms

She's never been the curviest of actresses, but Angelina Jolie looked skinner than ever as she arrived at the Berlin premiere of Salt.

The 35-year-old actress chose a long black BCBG Max Azria dress to conceal her tiny figure, but couldn't hide her protruding shoulder blades and painfully thin arms in the halterneck number.

And even her dramatic black stone necklace did little to detract from her noticeably skinny figure.

What a difference: Angelina looked noticeably thinner than she did at the Golden Globes in January 2009

It is not the first time Angelina has been criticised for being too thin.

In 2007, the mother-of-six spoke about the criticism, and said any weight loss was down to the death of her mother Marcheline Betrand.

She said: 'I've always been lean and this year I lost my mom and I've gone through a lot.

'Instead of people saying I look like a person dealing with something emotionally, they assume it's because I want to fit into skinny jeans.

Jutting: Angelina's protruding bones on her neck and shoulders could clearly be seen as she talked to press

'Someone saying to me that I'm thin is not a compliment.'

The actress also lose weight while training for her role as Evelyn Salt in Salt, the story of a CIA Agent accused of being a Russian spy.

According to the film's stunt co-ordinator Simon Crane, Jolie learned 'a combination of Muay Thai and Krav Maga' martial arts, and trained for two hours a day, four times a week, in preparation for the action-packed fight sequences in the film.

Protruding: Angelina adjusts her dress as she signs autographs for fans at the Berlin premiere

Bony: The backless dress highlighted Angelina's skinny figure and thin arms

Jolie is currently on a European tour promoting her new film, and is accompanied by her two-year-old twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, while partner Brad Pitt looks after their other four children.

Meanwhile, it has been claimed Jolie and Pitt are in the middle of designing a clothing line for children, the profits of which will be donated to their charity the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

And it's not the first time the pair have pooled their creative talents, having previously designed a jewellery line for Asprey, with proceeds going to The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.

Kelly Brook is a goddess in gold as she FINALLY puts some clothes on for Piranha 3D premiere

It's a cover up! Kelly Brook headed off for the Hollywood premiere of her new film Piranha 3D today

Kelly Brook put her 'naked month' temporarily on hold today for the LA premiere of her new film Pirahana 3D.

The brunette bombshell, who has jumped at every opportunity to take her clothes off of late, covered up in a dramatic gold gown for the Hollywood affair.

But there was still plenty of skin on show - the full length dress was slashed to the thigh and featured a plunging neckline.

Earlier in the day, Kelly went to the gym with her personal trainer for a workout to ensure she was in the best shape possible for the red carpet do at Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

Kelly, the face of Reebok, was fully decked out in the sports label's clothes, and was even wearing the Reebok RunTone trainers, a new version of the EasyTones she promotes.

Of course - these days her bare form is her fortune.

It takes a lot of work to look like this! Kelly went to the gym with her personal trainer today ahead of the red carpet event

She has just posed nude for Love magazine in nothing more than a fluffy shawl protecting what was left of her modesty.

The cover shoot followed her naked appearances in Playboy magazine and a Reebok ad.
Kelly decided to fully shed her inhibitions in honour of her film Piranha 3D - which is released today.

It sees her taking her clothes off and enjoy a steamy moment underwater.

She also shares a lesbian kiss underwater with porn actress Riley Steele.

Naked ambition: Kelly stripped off for the latest issue of Love magazine

Now that's a way to stop traffic: Kelly posed nude - again - for a Reebok trainer campaign earlier this month

Speaking at the Breakthrough of the Year Awards in Los Angeles, she said: 'Having this movie coming out where I get to make out underwater with a porn star naked, I just thought "why not just embrace it and make this month my naked month where everything I do is naked?".'

She actually was criticised for appearing in a bikini in nearly all of her scenes.
But she said she was happy to show off her figure in the film as she knows her curvy shape will not last.

She added: 'If people want to cast me in roles for my body or how I look, I’m just doing to embrace that because that’s not going to be the case forever.

'It doesn’t make me any less important than anyone else in the movie just because I’m in a bikini. That’s just the role I play. It’s as much a part of the story as the piranhas and everything else.'

Ooh la la! Angelina Jolie wows French fans in daringly low cut dress at Paris premiere of Salt

Ooh la la! Angelina Jolie looked stunning in a white sparkly Pamella Roland dress as she arrived at the Paris premiere of Salt

When embarking on a worldwide promotional movie tour, it can be difficult to come up with the right outfits to wear on the red carpet.

But after an unusual dress choice at the London premiere, Angelina Jolie definitely went for the wow factor as she arrived at the premiere of Salt in Paris, France, wearing a daringly low cut dress.

The 35-year-old actress looked stunning in the white sparkly Pamella Roland dress, which she teamed with satin Salvatore Ferragamo heels and a chic up do, as she greeted fans at the event.

Low cut: The fitted dress highlighted Angelina's incredible figure and tiny waist as she arrived at the premiere, but the actress appeared conscious of how revealing the outfit was

The outfit made the most of Angelina's figure and highlighted her tiny waist - something the Amanda Wakeley gown she chose for the London premiere failed to do.

Jolie is currently on a European tour to promote the new thriller, in which she plays CIA Agent Evelyn Salt.

And because spending time away from her family and partner Brad Pitt for a long period of time is difficult for the actress, she has decided to bring two-year-old twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon with her.

Pretty: The dress and the chic up do made Angelina appear years younger than her 35 years

Flattering: The curve-enhancing Pamella Roland dress flattered Jolie in all the right places

Asked who was with her, Jolie told Usmagazine.com: 'Just the babies. I'm having some special baby time.'

But she added taking the children away from their siblings and father was a tough decision, explaining: 'We're very much a united front. They can't get Mommy to do something Daddy wouldn't. We're very much the same.

'But we take turns working and we bring the kids to each other's sets, so we try to stay together.'

Much better: The outfit was a vast improvement on the long Amanda Wakeley gown she wore to the London premiere

Jolie also revealed that her six children are becoming used to being on the movie set, because she used to take them with her while she was shooting Salt.

She said: 'I would bring them in early in the mornings...and I'd let them use the fake blood. So we play together, they try on my wigs, they play with the blood.

'But they know it's all silly! They test the harnesses and we have them flying around. They know what it is.'

Hello France! Angelina gives fans a coy wave as she greets those who queued for hours to catch a glimpse of their idol

Tattooed lady: The outfit was cut to show off Angelina's many inkings, including several on her back and arm

Meanwhile, Jolie has denied rumours she is set to play Marilyn Monroe in a film adaptation of Andrew O'Hagan's novel The Life And Opinions Of Maf The Dog, And Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe.

She had been reported to have signed up to star as the blonde bombshell alongside George Clooney as Frank Sinatra in the new movie, but the story has been denied.

Her representative told the LA Times: 'Angelina is NOT attached to this project.'

Couldn't she have made a bit more of an effort? Jennifer Aniston keeps it simple at The Switch premiere

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-4zyq-NNFQendofvid

By Daily Mail Reporter

All-American girl: Jennifer Aniston sparkles in Lanvin at the Los Angeles premiere of The Switch in Hollywood

With that hair and that figure, Jennifer Aniston doesn't need much to look a knock-out.

But even her All-American, classic taste is starting to look a bit tired, as she stuck to a simple strapless Lanvin dress at the premiere of The Switch last night.

With her blonde hair down past her shoulders, and strappy Josie and Lottie sandals, she looked effortlessly beautiful, if a little under dressed for the big Hollywood premiere of the film she stars in.

The 41-year-old carried a Ferragamo crocodile clutch as she walked the red carpet in Hollywood.

Her premiere came on the same night that her one-time love rival Angelina Jolie was walking the red carpet in London.

In contrast to Aniston's less is more approach, Angelina wore a sequinned floor-length Amanda Wakely dress.

Her partner Brad Pitt, Jennifer's ex-husband, was not present, with filming commitments keeping him away.

Different styles: While Jennifer was promoting her movie in LA, Angelina Jolie was at the London premiere of Salt in a sparkling gown

In The Switch, Jennifer plays Kassie, a single woman who is desperate for a baby and decides to have artificial insemination to fall pregnant.

Her best friend Wally (Jason Bateman), who is in love with her, drunkenly switches the donor sperm with his own, and doesn't tell her.

Jennifer admitted that she still wishes for a family of her own.

Besties: Jennifer and co-star Juliette Lewis looked like great pals as they cuddled on the red carpet

'Yeah, I have said it years before and I still say it today,' she said. But will she turn to the 'turkey baster' method, like Kassie?

'I don't have plans on that, no,' she said.

But speaking to Entertainment Weekly recently, she hinted 'I'm on the verge of it in some way... it's something I long for.'

When asked on the red carpet if she had heard from conservative talk show host Bill O'Reilly, who said recently that her comments about women not needing a man to have a baby were ' destructive to our society', Aniston reportedly smiled and shook her head.

Angelina Jolie sparkles in sequins as she meets and greets her fans at the London premiere of her new film Salt

Sparkly in sequins: Angelina Jolie dazzles the crowd as she arrives at the London premiere of her new film Salt

Angelina Jolie took to the red carpet tonight and received a rapturous welcome from the crowds at the London premiere of her highly anticipated action film Salt.

A black and white carpet was laid for the arrival of Hollywood's biggest female star and nobody shone brighter than the 35 year old in a nude-coloured Amanda Wakely sequinned dress.

As she got out of her car, she waded straight in signing autographs and taking her time to walk the carpet which was specially printed with the name of the film.

But there were concerns over her health as she was looking extremely thin as she stopped and talked to fans that had been waiting outside the Empire cinema in Leicester Square all day.

Her dress, although beautiful on her, swamped her tiny frame and did nothing to flatter her.

She said that she had brought her two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with her to London but the others had stayed at home.

And she said actor partner Brad Pitt was unable to attend due to work commitments but added: 'We miss London...we love it here.'

She was joined at the premiere but a not-so-dazzling list of celebrity guests, not one expected for the premiere of a film with a Hollywood A-lister as the star.

Flowing: Angelina's Amanda Wakely dress stood out as she posed for pictures but it did nothing to flatter her very tiny frame

Kerry Katona was a guest and posed on the carpet in a Melissa Odabash kaftan.

She said she felt like 'Quasimodo' next to Angelina, who she described as 'stunning'.

When asked by the host of the evening, radio and TV presenter Edith Bowman if she would make a good spy, she said: 'Rentagob me can't keep anything to myself!'

X Factor winners Joe McElderry and Leona Lewis also attended as well as Rebecca Adlington fresh from her victory at Euro Swim Championships, who showed off her bronzed legs in an animal print mini dress.

Over here, Ange! The actress looks up towards the cameras as she signed autographs for her fans outside the premiere

Centre of attention: Angelina gives the cameras what they want before heading off into the cinema to watch her film

Angelina was interviewed outside the cinema by radio and TV presenter Edith Bowman who asked her about her upcoming project about Marilyn Monroe.

The actress is set to play Monroe in an adaptation of Andrew O'Hagan's The Life And Opinions Of Maf The Dog, And Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe, the author revealed at the Edinburgh Book Festival yesterday.

And George Clooney has been lined up to play Monroe's close friend Frank Sinatra, O'Hagan confirmed, adding that production on the film would begin soon.

When asked about the film, she said she didn't know anything about it and 'would have to ask George Clooney' about it.

Edith then asked her about Salt and how it differed from her previous action roles including Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Celebrity guest: Kerry Katona waves at the cameras as she arrives at the premiere dressed in a short and sassy Aztec-style dress

Angelina said: 'Other action films I've done were based in fantasy, this was based in reality so had to make her tougher and meaner.'

'I love dressing up morphing into different characters.'

And when Bowman asked: Do blondes have more fun?' Angelina replied: 'Definitely not.'

The film has been received to mixed reviews so far but Angelina has said she hopes there will be a Salt sequel so she can explore her film's character.

According to Contactmusic.com, she said: 'I'd love to do a sequel.

'You never know if you're going to get the chance, if audiences are going to love it. But particularly with this character, I think there is so much yet to explore in her life with her - with her family, with coming to terms with who she is in the end, because of the way it is set up, she could be anybody.

'She could be in any country, she could speak any language, and so we have a lot of opportunities - as an actress, and somebody who loves to travel, it would be nice to be able to explore the world with her.'
